What Is CLAT 2027?

The Common Law Admission Test is conducted every year by the Consortium of National Law Universities for admissions to undergraduate and postgraduate law programs across India. CLAT 2027 will be held on December 6, 2026 in a single offline shift from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM in pen-and-paper mode across 130+ exam centres nationwide.

The scale of the competition is real. The total number of UG seats offered through CLAT is around 4,000, while the number of candidates who apply exceeds 92,000 every year. Who Can Apply for CLAT 2027?

One of the most student-friendly aspects of CLAT is how inclusive its eligibility is. Any student who has passed or is appearing in Class 12 can apply for CLAT UG 2027 regardless of stream. Science, Commerce, and Arts students are all equally eligible. There is no upper age limit and no restriction on the number of attempts.

The minimum marks required in Class 12 are 45% for General, OBC, PwD, NRI, OCI, and PIO candidates, and 40% for SC and ST candidates. Students who will be appearing in their Class 12 board examinations in 2027 can register now and appear provisionally.

For postgraduate law aspirants, CLAT PG 2027 runs on the same registration portal and the same dates. PG eligibility requires an LLB degree with a minimum of 50% marks for General and OBC candidates, and 45% for SC and ST candidates. Final-year LLB students may apply provisionally.
